The curriculum for the academic discipline "Countering Cybercrime" was compiled for the undergraduates of the Law Faculty of Euphrosyne Polotskaya State University of Polotsk, studying in the specialty 7-06-0421-01 "Jurisprudence" .

Discipline "Countering Cybercrime" is a collection of scientific and practical knowledge about about the criminal legal and criminological features of cybercrime, as well as about the problems and main directions of countering cybercrime.

The discipline “Countering Cybercrime” is aimed at teaching students the basics of countering cybercrime and improving their skills in this area. Students will be introduced to the main types of cybercrime, threats to information security and methods of protecting information. Particular attention is paid to the study of legislation in the field of combating cybercrime.

Aim of teaching of the discipline – to provide theoretical and practical training of specialists for activities related to countering cybercrime.

Achieving this goal involves solving the following tasks:

-     teach how to work with legal and other information related to combating cybercrime;

-     instill skills in using strategies, techniques and methods to combat cybercrime;

-     master the skills of qualifying cybercrimes;

-     study the main types of cybercrimes;

-     instill skills in countering cybercrimes.

The result of study of the discipline "Countering Cybercrime" the student should develop and consolidate the following competencies:

SC-14 - To know the current problems of the spread of crimes in digital space, modern methods of combating crimes in the digital space.

As a result of studying the discipline “Countering Cybercrime”, the student must

know:

-       basic legal acts in the field of information security, legislation in the field of combating cybercrime;

-       concepts, types and elements of cybercrime;

-       criminal law establishing liability for cybercrimes;

-       features of the criminological characteristics of cybercrimes;

-       criminal procedural legislation on the investigation of cybercrimes;

-       strategies to combat cybercrime;

-       international documents on countering cybercrime;

-       subjects of international cybercrime prevention.

-     legally competently justify your position on issues of countering cybercrime;

-     oversee the implementation of legislation regulating the fight against cybercrime;

-     find the necessary legal information on countering cybercrime and use it correctly;

-     apply in practice normative legal acts of substantive and procedural law related to the fight against cybercrime.

-     skills in checking regulations related to the fight against cybercrime;

-     skills to carry out the correct criminal legal classification of cybercrimes.

All of the above will contribute to the professional implementation of the competence-oriented approach in the study of "Countering Cybercrime", effectiveness and quality of the educational process.
